Representation built around your career — not control of it.
Maine Modeling Agency is building a different kind of representation model for people whose careers depend on image, talent, creativity, personality, performance, or public presence.
Our goal is simple: help you become more professional, more marketable, more protected, and more capable of controlling the assets and opportunities created around your career.
Representation should create leverage for the person being represented. It should help you build stronger work, reach better buyers, understand your rights, make better decisions, and participate clearly in the value you help create.

A career needs more than someone forwarding opportunities.
A strong representative should help connect the pieces of a career.
For a model, that may mean improving portfolio quality, identifying realistic commercial categories, preparing for casting, building stronger photographer relationships, and learning how usage rights affect the value of an image.
For an athlete, it may mean better sponsorship photography, a stronger public image, commercial brand positioning, NIL education, authenticated memorabilia, and content that gives local or regional sponsors something useful to work with.
For a creator, it may mean professional brand assets, clearer campaign terms, stronger commercial presentation, and better control over how content and likeness are reused.
For an actor or on-camera personality, it may mean headshots, self-presentation, commercial casting preparation, branded-content opportunities, and relationships with photographers and production partners.
MMA is being built to connect those functions instead of treating a person’s career as a single photoshoot or one-off booking.
Your career should remain yours.
MMA’s developing representation philosophy is based on career sovereignty: the idea that an individual should understand who owns the assets created around their career, what rights have been granted, how long those rights last, how money is divided, and what happens when a relationship ends.
That does not mean every project will have the same ownership structure. Different photographers, brands, campaigns, publications, and commercial productions may require different agreements.
It means the terms should be understandable.
As Maine Modeling Agency and Image Rights Vault develop their shared rights infrastructure, the goal is to make ownership, consent, provenance, licensing, contributor participation, and career portability part of the normal workflow rather than something the individual discovers after a problem occurs.
Build the parts of the career that make opportunity possible.
Professional Image
Develop headshots, portfolio images, commercial lifestyle content, beauty/editorial work, athletic imagery, creator branding, and other career assets appropriate to your market.
Portfolio Strategy
A portfolio should not be a folder of attractive photographs. It should show why someone might hire you. MMA can help identify missing looks, unnecessary repetition, commercial range, expression, movement, and presentation.
Market Positioning
Not everyone belongs in the same category. One person’s strongest lane may be fashion and editorial. Another may be hospitality, healthcare, real-estate lifestyle, athletic brands, mature commercial work, creator campaigns, or on-camera advertising.
Photographer Relationships
When developing talent does not have a photographer, MMA intends to help connect them with photographers who can work within a clear, respectful creative framework. Existing photographer relationships should be able to enter that ecosystem rather than being automatically displaced.
Commercial Opportunities
MMA intends to cultivate relationships with Maine and New England brands, agencies, producers, photographers, small businesses, hospitality companies, tourism organizations, athletic organizations, and other buyers who need useful talent.
Career Marketing
Talent should be discoverable. MMA can help develop professional profiles, internal category placement, commercial presentation, portfolio organization, and future cross-promotion through the broader Willey ecosystem.
Rights Education
A person should understand the difference between owning a copy of an image, owning copyright, granting likeness permission, accepting a commercial usage term, and approving AI or digital-replica use. Image Rights Vault is being developed to make these distinctions easier to document and use.
The agency should grow when it creates value.
MMA’s goal is not to take a percentage of every dollar a person earns simply because they once signed an agreement.
The developing model is intended to be more specific.
When MMA sources an opportunity, negotiates a campaign, produces a shoot, manages a licensing transaction, administers rights, provides production resources, or materially helps create commercial value, MMA should participate according to terms agreed in advance.
When MMA did not create, negotiate, administer, protect, produce, or materially grow an opportunity, the agency should not automatically assume it owns a piece of that unrelated income.
Final commission structures will depend on the type of representation and must be reflected in actual signed agreements.
Representation becomes stronger when rights are organized.
Maine Modeling Agency is the founding agency partner for Image Rights Vault, a separate developing platform focused on career assets, authentic provenance, rights documentation, licensing, participant economics, protection records, physical authentication, and controlled likeness use.
The intended system brings together information that is usually fragmented across emails, releases, image folders, invoices, and social platforms.
The long-term objective is to help represented people and creative partners understand:
- which assets are authentic;
- who created them;
- who owns or administers the relevant rights;
- what MMA may use for representation;
- what buyers may use commercially;
- which restrictions apply;
- when a license expires;
- what each participant earned where tracking is implemented;
- whether a physical edition was authorized;
- whether an AI likeness or derivative was approved.
Image Rights Vault remains a separate developing platform.
MMA presents it as a direction and structural advantage, not as a completed guarantee.
Representation is not only for runway models.
MMA is developing pathways for fashion and editorial models, commercial and lifestyle models, male and female talent, mature and real-people talent, fitness and athletic talent, creators and influencers, actors and on-camera talent, promotional and event talent, athletes, and other individuals whose professional value depends on how they present, perform, or communicate.
Photographers and other creative partners are part of the ecosystem as collaborators rather than inventory.
Career ownership also means career responsibility.
MMA does not promise success to anyone who applies.
Professional representation works best when the represented person communicates, shows up prepared, respects collaborators, responds to opportunities, protects confidential information, follows agreed usage rules, improves their skills, and takes responsibility for their own reputation.
MMA can provide structure, direction, relationships, production, marketing, and negotiation support. The represented individual still has to do the work.
Important: Purchasing photography, portfolio development, or other services does not guarantee representation or paid work. Representation decisions are evaluated separately.
Questions about representation.
Do I need professional modeling experience?
No. Different categories require different experience. MMA can evaluate whether someone needs basic development, portfolio improvement, commercial preparation, or is ready for representation discussions.
Does MMA own my career?
The developing MMA philosophy is the opposite. Representation should define the agency’s authority clearly while preserving the individual’s ownership and portability wherever possible. Final terms depend on signed agreements.
Will MMA guarantee work?
No legitimate agency can guarantee that a buyer will select a person. The agency can improve preparation, presentation, access, and professional readiness.
Can I keep my own photographer?
The goal is yes. Existing creative relationships should be able to fit into the MMA ecosystem if all parties can agree on professional standards, rights, and project requirements.
What is Image Rights Vault?
It is a developing rights and provenance platform intended to help individuals and creative partners authenticate work, document rights, manage licensing, track economics, and eventually control approved AI-likeness uses.
